The individual competition has started.
WA boys are doing well.
Tyzton won against Elton Zhang in 2 sets at 21/17 and 21/14.
He then played Janson Trinh in a tough 3 set. He won the first set at 21/11 but had a close fight at the 2nd losing at 20/22. The final match went to 21-19. There was a let at 20/19 when a shutter landed at the court just as Tyz's shot went wide. Luckily Tyz went on to win. He now meets Keith Edison who is seeded No. 1 in this tournament. This will be a tough match for Tyzton tomorrow.
KC won in 2 sets against Herbert Sa at 21/1 and 21/2. He went on to beat Schuler 21/18 and 21/17.
His match against Irving Ong was much easier at 21/7 and 21/7.
He now goes to play Marcus Loi tomorrow.
Sunyee won Charlie Jap in 3 tough sets at 18/21, 21/10 and 21/12. Charlie was the Under 17 runner up last year. Sunyee has done well. He then played Marcus Loi but bowed out at 21/6 and 21/14.
Xiang had an easy match against Patil at 21/10 and 21/9. He had another easy set against Oscar Jap at 21/14 and 21/17. Xiang will play Jared Song tomorrow.
Jasper beat Lawrence Ting easily at 21/7 and 21/9. He then played HD but lost 21/9 and 21/13. Jasper has done better at the mixed doubles.
Jason Lee beat Aaron Miao in 2 easy sets but bowed out after losing to Tristan Edison in 2 sets.
Jason and KC beat Brendan and Chze Lim easily before meeting Stephen and Nalzaro. They won 21/17 and 21/13. They meet Keith and Tristan tomorrow.
Jasper and Sunyee beat Eugene and Terence Mui in 2 easy sets. They then beat Charlie Jap and Patil in 2 sets. They meet HD and Justin tomorrow. Maybe they can create an upset.
Tyz and Xiang beat Irvin Ong and J Wong 21/14 and 21/10.They meet Jared Song and Ethan Zhang tomorrow.

Jasper and Charis from NSW beat Thomas Green and Duhig easily. Jasper and Charise went on to cause a real upset by beating HD and Tiffany Ho who are seeded 1. HD and TH have been up there in many tournaments and they must be humbled that 2 younger players have beaten them.
The score was 21/18, 13/21 and 21/17.
Xiang and Victoria He beat Ray Liao and Tatyana in 2 easy sets. They then beat Elton Zhang and Chloe Chen. He now meets Jasper and Charis. That should be interesting.
KC partnered Cecily to beat Oscar Jap and Mashalidis in 3 tough sets at 21/11, 14/21 and 21/14.
He meets Keith Edison and Lauren Lim.
Tyz and Jodee Vega won easily against Charlie Jap and Thomas. They then played 2nd seed Joy Lai and Justin Lee. They lost the first set 21/18 but scraped through the 2nd at 20/22. However they lost power to lose at 21/17.
Young Alicia lost to Ysabel in 2 sets and went to the plate. She plays Kuhan in the plate tomorrow.
Alicia and R Thomas also lost in 2 sets to Maggie Chen and Victoria He. She does to the plate.
Pickles and Alicia also went to the plate for the Mixed.
Annie and I prepared rice and vegetables after buying roast meats for the team. The dinner was enjoyed by the team. We managed despite the crappy kitchen.
