Dear readers
Today, we had an easy day against Tasmania.
SunYee and Jasper started the day with an easy 2 set win.
Alicia and Celina had a surprise fight losing to Green and Liu in 2 sets.
Xiang and KC brought us back on track with a 2 set win against Rai and Roy.
Amelia and Phoebe also won in 2 easy sets against Duhig and Thomas.
Jason also had an easy 2 set win against Thomas Green.
Phoebe could not contain Angie Liu losing in 2 sets.
Sunyee again brought us back on track for the bronze with another 2 set win.
Likewise Amelia had an easy 2 set win against Rebecca Green.
Kai Chen then played Josh Patridge who has many unorthodox moves. KC was a bit taken and lost quite a few points but finally finishing 21/13 and 21/13.
Celina also had no problems against Duhig finishing in 2 sets under 5.
Xiang then confirmed the bronze medal when he got the 9th game against Sam Lockett.
It was actually an anti climatic day for us compared to yesterday's games.
Alicia got her first singles game winning 2 sets against Rebekah Thomas.
WA went on to win all the mixed doubles games clinching the bronze medal.
This has been a great result for WA as we did not even have enough girls to form a team.
NSW has been so generous with offering their girl players to play for WA.
We would like to acknowledge the following NSW girls and their parents. If the parents do not bring their children to the stadium, there is no WA team.
1. Nancy Lowe and her daughter Amelia.
2. Raymond, Mandy and their daughter Phoebe.
3. Lynne Chen and her daughter Celina Chen.
These 3 NSW girls gave everything they had. I am sure they have enjoyed playing with the much older WA boys who are like big brothers. They were also great in sharing their experience with young Alicia.
The parents have been so supportive.
Of course we also have to thank YQ the manager and Ryan the coach for their time and their efforts.
Now on to the individuals.
