BadmintonWAUnder 19s: WA v Queensland

Dear readers

It has been a very dramatic day for the Under 19s WA team.

They started the day with breakfast at Mcdonalds. It was followed by warm ups in readiness for facing Queensland.

We got off to a good start with our MD2 and WD 2. Gavin and Jasper did well to win in 2 set.

Silvi and Julia also did well to win in 2 sets.

Bella and Julia then beat Grace and Annabelle by concentrating their attacks on weaker Annabelle. Their tactic worked.

WA was 3 up. Xiang and Tyz then went against Simon and BillWang. They fought a good fight but had to give up in 3 sets.

Kai Chen then got WA another pt by winning his singles. Teigan also did well to get WA ahead again.

Amanda then play Kim Huang. Amanda is one of our rising stars. She did well to stay ahead and win in 2 sets.

Xiang then got WA ahead at 7/2 with a good win against Thibauld.

Gavin could not get into the game against Bill Huang losing in 2 sets.

Geri May got WA back on track with another 2 sets win.

Titus fought hard but could not win the 3rd set against Bill.

Bella then met Grace who is much older. Bella gave everything she had but fell short of getting both sets.

It was up to Gavin and Amanda to get WA over the line with their win.

Tyz and Silvi consolidated the WA win with a 2 set victory.

We lost the next 2 mixed doubles, but the win was confirmed. The players did well and all parents should be proud.
